Amenta

Oh our mighty god Osiris,

Oh our mighty god Osiris,

Please bring back my sister

Please bring back Akila

She was so young,

And she did no wrong

In the world of Amenta,

She don’t belong

Oh our graceful god Osiris

Oh our graceful god Osiris

Please bring back my mother

Please bring back Lochin

She was so young

And she did no wrong

In the world of Amenta,

She don’t belong

Oh our graceful god Osiris

Oh our graceful god Osiris

Please don’t take the rain

Please don’t take the ghufran

She was so young

And she did no wrong

In the world of Amenta,

She don’t belong

Reflection question 1

Many people want to be optimistic even when their reality is a total mess, and religion is the perfect way to keep hope even when they’re in a horrible situation. For example, if a wife lost her beloved husband, then the wife can still be happy knowing that the god she believes in will take him to a happy place. Therefore, god does not exist and it is made up by people who cannot accept their harsh reality. Well, this is what I thought at first.

When I first heard about the concept of god from my parents as an infant, I was very skeptical and had ideas such as the one I mentioned. I first thought he was like a made-up tyrannical king watching and controlling every human being’s movement and behaviors. And I could not accept that. However as I grew up in a Christian family, my idea of this “tyrannical king” had changed into a loving and caring father who watched and cared for all us from up above. And when my ideas changed, my behaviors changed accordingly. I can’t say that I am a perfect Christian. However, I can say for sure that if I haven’t learned the love of god, I would have been a totally different person.
